Cooroy Community Gardens provides a beautiful natural setting for our programs, reflecting Parados’ practice of learning through connection with nature. We encourage children to slow down, observe their surroundings and draw inspiration from the natural world through hands-on, creative and collaborative making.

Performing Arts with Grace

2:00–4:00PM — Ages 6–9 years
4:00–6:00PM — Ages 10–16 years

A creative performing arts program with Grace, exploring drama, character development, performance skills and creating original plays. Students will work together to develop stories, characters and performances.

Creative Arts with Hayley & Maddie

2:00–4:00PM — Ages 6–9 years
4:00–6:00PM — Ages 10–16 years

A hands-on creative arts program with Hayley and Maddie, exploring art, making, natural materials, creative projects and practical skills. Students will have the opportunity to experiment, collaborate and develop their own creative ideas in a relaxed outdoor setting.

Parados Learning Cooperative

The Parados Learning Cooperative (PLC) is a home education learning community supported and auspiced by Parados Education Incorporated.

PLC is not a registered school and does not replace a family’s home education program. Parents and carers remain responsible for their child’s home education, including registration, learning plans and reporting requirements. Our role is to provide rich, collaborative experiences that complement and support the learning taking place across children’s homes, families and wider communities.

Our learning model will continue to evolve through consultation with families, educators, local Elders, young people and the broader community. We believe children benefit from meaningful relationships with a diverse community of people and from learning across different places, including gardens, creeks, natural environments, cultural spaces and the wider community.

Our intention is to begin in 2027 with two mixed-age learning groups:

• Children aged 6–8 years

• Children aged 9–12 years

Thursday: Arts Studio

A creative studio program encompassing visual arts, music, performance, design and hands-on making, with opportunities to learn and work alongside visiting artists and cultural practitioners.

Friday: Blue Space Learning

Place-based learning beyond the studio through visits to beaches, forests, waterways, cultural places, community organisations and recreational environments. Children will learn through exploration, movement, observation, creative practice and connection with Country and community.

Families may choose the program or combination of programs that best supports their own approach to home education.

We are intentionally not offering a five-day, school-style program. PLC is designed to be one part of a child’s broader home education experience, while providing the consistency, relationships and sense of belonging that can develop through participation in an ongoing learning community.

We acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the lands and waters on which we learn, work and play, the Kabi Kabi people, who have cared for Country since time immemorial. We pay our respects to Elders past and present and acknowledge that sovereignty was never ceded. This always was, and always will be, Aboriginal land.

We look forward to learning alongside local First Nations communities and building respectful, reciprocal relationships as we deepen our understanding of caring for Country and strengthen our connections with place and community.
